1. What are industrial electric fans and in what case would I need one?

When an industrial or commercial building needs cooling, and air conditioning becomes too costly and is just not practical, an industrial fan may be just the thing for your business space.  Industrial electric fans can be quite helpful for places where heat stratification, dampness, and stagnant air become frequent problems.  For high volume, high static pressure, an industrial fan is what you need.  Also known as an industrial electric blower, these units replace air as well by blowing out the old and stagnant air for a wide area that otherwise would collect this air without replenishing it in entirety.

2. When is an industrial fan best and why?

Industrial electric fans are for more commercial applications such as a warehouse or perhaps a carpet cleaning company.  For example, a carpet cleaning company would need a fan with very high CFM in order to dry carpets after a deep cleaning.  This type of company needs to dry the carpets in a decent amount of time to still be profitable.  Industrial fans can help in this situation because they can support the higher CFM without the vibrations that a smaller fan will have.  Most electric industrial fans have blades of a higher more durable construction (some kind of metal).  This allows the blades to move more air at one time without all the force being applied to the fan and making the motor work harder.

3. Why is an industrial electric fan so beneficial for a large space?

Industrial fans will also come with more powerful motors for reducing excessive noise.  The motor will not be working at its top speed to produce the necessary airflow, therefore it will be quieter.  Industrial electric fans are also very versatile; there are floor fans, wall mounted fans, and pedestal fans that all come in industrial grades.  If you plan on a very large space, a pivoting fan is a good choice as you can manipulate the direction of the air and direct it to where it is needed most.  Some even come with stands to make these larger fans easy to roll from place to place.

4. Can you tell me more about which type I need?

There are duct fans, roof and ceiling ventilators, wall mounted fans, pressure blowers, and freestanding units. Each can be mounted in a different way, always one that will suit your situation that you need it for.  For extreme conditions and plants, drum fans can be used to move even larger amounts of air.  These types of fans come with wheels attached and can be rolled to the area that circulation is needed the most.  Some manufacturers even sell just the fan heads for a more freedom and a reduced assembly and cost on the company.

5. Is an industrial electric fan energy-efficient and healthy?

As the industrial fan is able to blow large quantities of air it assists in removing pollutants like dust and metal particles, carbon monoxide, nitrous oxides, sulfur dioxide, sulfuric acid, and hydrocarbon solvents.  Plus, industrial electric fans clearly do not use as much electricity as an air conditioner, circulating air and cooling it at a fast rate for a large space.  With high-powered, energy-efficient motors, the larger motor of an industrial fan is actually guaranteed to save energy costs.  These motors are designed to change a large amount of electrical energy into useful fan work.  Often as electric industrial fans are in operation for an entire day period, opposed to a home fan which is turned on only when people are home, or in a specific room, the industrial fan needs to be energy efficient for this extra use.  These motors can handle more heat than a normal motor meaning less heat waste is produced.  Due to improved internal pieces and windings, these motors are better from the inside out and your bills will show it, as well as your comfortable employees!
